Valentine's Day often stirs up my creative juices. This past week I've been thinking a bit about how accessibility is a show of love. At least, when it's not done out of fear (e.g. lawsuits). When we take time and make the web accessible, we make space for people with disabilities.

While pondering a ballad for web accessibility, I thought I'd give Suno's AI Valentine's song generation a whirl.

Generating a (love) song

[Background of purple, pink, and orange pastels. A glimmering heart with an envelope. Question reads, "Who's your valentine?" Below that sets an input box with "Accessible Web" entered. A Next button sets underneath.

First step: Who's your valentine? Accessible Web, of course!

[Background of green and blue pastel gradient. A glimmering heart with an daisy. Question (with poor contrast) reads, "Where did you and Accessible Web meet?" An input box with "online" entered. A Next button sets underneath.

Second step: Where did you and Accessible Web meet? Online, naturally.

[Background of purple and pink pastel gradient. A glimmering heart with an inner heart. Question underneath reads, "What makes Accessible Web special?" An input box with "perceivable, operable, understandable, robust" entered in. A Next button sets underneath.

Last step: What makes Accessible Web Special? Well, perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust are just a few notable mentions.

Let's just say, this AI isn't quite ready for prime time. However, the Weird Al vibe did make me smile.

Or should I call it Weird A.I.?

I present to you... Accessible Love!

(also temporarily live on Suno's V-Day rendering of Accessible Love)

Lyrics, sung in an acoustic, modern country-esqe style ballad in a male voice:

[Verse]In this vast digital expanse, we found our connectionTwo souls brought together by ones and zerosYour website glowing, a beacon in the darkPerceivable and operable, you stole my heart (oh-oh)
[Chorus]You're my accessible love, you make my world completeNavigating the depths of my heart, every click is so sweetUnderstandable and robust, you're everything I needMy love for you, it flows endlessly[repeat verse]

In conclusion

This was made in good fun.

But, seriously, show some love every day by making your web spaces accessible for everyone.

Period.
